Intensive Care Radio
Andy Fraser & Andrew Perry
Monthly, Tuesday 12-2pm
Punk, Reggae, African, Soul, Techno
Intensive Care started in 1995, pioneering the culture of DJs playing great music in a bar-type environment. Sounds obvious now, but at the time no-one was doing it. Since then, it has been through numerous venues (and boats!) across London, featuring umpteen guest DJ’s and live bands.
The three resident DJ’s, Perry, Fraser and Declan, have played at countless gigs and parties, for everyone from Nick Cave, Beck and The White Stripes, to Ronnie Spector and The Libertines. They’re also renowned for lively wee-hours shifts at festivals like Glastobury and All Tomorrow’s Parties.
As a rule of thumb, Intensive Care plays punk, reggae, soul, African, classic rock, metal, electronica and up-to-the-minute current stuff, the majority of it with a pervasive nuance of party attitude.
As such, they’ll do their best not to upset their TWR listeners’ digestion every third Sunday lunchtime of the month, but those tuning in should expect to have their soul stirred, their spirits raised, and to hear limited bursts of excitable banter.
