TWR is an independent not-for-profit online radio station created by Acid Jazz Records founder and veteran broadcaster Eddie Piller, who had long cherished the dream of launching a station that catered for listeners who felt they’d been left behind by other broadcasters. The dream was realised in the spring of 2018 with the help of clothing giant Fred Perry and what began as a labour of love has grown into something quite wonderful, listened to in 92% of the world’s countries.
The station now provides a platform for over 100+ DJs and presenters, broadcasts 7 days a week with diverse and innovative programmes covering a wide spectrum of music and chat with some very special guests – for people of all ages and from all walks of life. We aim to provide a friendly voice in your home during these tough times and to share the good times with you when they return.
TWR has an incredible and dedicated listenership! All of whom we respect greatly and have become our extended TWR friends and family. If you’ve ever listened to a show or visited our online chat box you’ll know exactly what we mean. We’re growing as a London cultural and musical institution and we’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far.
The Covid crisis has brought incredible hardships to all of us and TWR is no different. The changing commercial landscape has meant that the station has lost its sponsor and consequently, we are taking drastic measures to see us through until the situation returns to normal. We have established this Friends of TWR page which provides a facility to allow listeners, supporters and well-wishers to help the station continue broadcasting. Friends can make either a one-time donation or a regular monthly supporting payment (which can of course be halted at any time) by simply clicking on the link. Rest assured that any money we raise will go entirely to the station running costs and IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY.
TWR Friends will of course receive a discount on the forthcoming range of station merchandise, priority ticket allocation at our events and parties (once events are again allowed) as well as the occasional TWR goodie bag as a way of showing our appreciation and thanks.
To all of our supporters, we can’t thank you enough for your donation! However, we also appreciate that not everyone is financially stable at the moment and these are tough times but you can still help us: by continuing to listen and support our amazing shows and DJs and by spreading the word. And a huge thank you to all of you from the TWR team for all the support you have shown and continue to show the station so far on our incredible journey.
