Been loitering around in the background of clubs/parties and live music since I can remember. Working in record shops in my teens and early twenties gave me a solid base and sparked an unending quest for new music.
In the early nineties I started a club night called ‘Get up and Use Me’ at Woody’s in London, hosting DJs including Quinton Scott (Strut Records), Dirty Beatniks (Wall of Sound) and Eric Powell (Bush Records). I wouldn’t call myself a DJ; I play records – previously in my front room in ‘all back to mine’ sessions and lots of one-off parties.
In recent years I’ve been tempted out of my front room, making appearances at We Out Here Festival, We Are The Sunset, Sundowners, The House of St. Barnabus, Tour de Force Festival (Valencia), Reference Point (Asturias) OnAir Bar (Brighton) Madcats and Two Floors (London).
I am a soul girl at heart but open to anything from the worlds of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop, house, reggae, indie and country. As long as it’s soulful, it’s going on. Cut my radio teeth presenting a show on 1BTN for the last two years and am absolutely thrilled to be joining TWR.
