A veteran of the South London Soul & Jazz Dance scene of the early 1980’s, Dr John has been making mixtapes since he was a teenager, copying cassettes for friends and neighbours. His genre-bending tapes were the result of a home-made, low-fi cut and paste approach to collecting music.

Now resident in South West England, these days the Dr has a more high-tech approach as a DJ and avid collector of original 45s. Yet, he still remains true to the essence of those original hand crafted crash-edits.

His show recreates the unbridled energy of a mixtape selector and sound curator. So, put your feet up because there’s no dress code, no scene, no pretending and no idle conversation… just ‘No Culture!’
